Issue #116 (Git with VS Code)07/10/24
Tools From the Internet You Never Knew Existed
A retro 90s design system, a telegram bot that tracks your diet, an app named "OH, a potato!" and an Apple notes website generator. What do these all have in common? They are insanely cool tools.

Whether you're looking for tools to enhance your business and productivity, spark inspiration, or just add a little wonder and joy to your day, there won't be a miss. Insanely Cool Tools has something for everyone.

Many of you may have been using VS Code for some time now, but it's possible you haven't become too familiar with using source control in VS Code. In case you didn't know, in early 2023, the VS Code docs added articles covering Source Control, including using Git and GitHub.
First, if you want a general overview, you can got to the main Source Control page, which includes a beginner's video on using Git with VS Code.
In addition to that main article, you'll find:
The FAQ is useful for when you run into problems or forget how to do something like revert or undoing a commit, undoing a git add before committing, along with some common gotchas.
Generally you don't have to be familiar with Git or GitHub prior to using these with VS Code, because VS Code simplifies a lot of it. So if you're new to using source control, maybe those docs can help you get started.
Now on to this week's hand-picked links!

VS Code Theme of the Week
|
ShadCN/vscode — A theme inspired by the popular shadcn/ui library for front-end development, and not affiliated in any way with the official project.
The theme itself is very black-and-white. The JavaScript syntax highlighting shown in the screenshot is fairly colorful, but the overall UI choices are a little more bland and straightforward. It's a good option if you don't like too many different colors in your theme.
